I have to agree with Archie to a certain extent. I lived in the Bronx until 1961 and then moved to Kew Gardens. Sure there were apartment buildings and different ethnic groups and such, but it was nothing like the Bronx we left behind. The Bronx had a city feel to it - not too many trees, only concrete playgrounds, very dense neighborhoods. Main Street in Queens was like a little village, and definitely more suburban-like. But whether or not Archie is right is plainly supported by this board's ack of participation. Ex-Queensites just don't have the attachment to their childhood home grounds like ex-Bronxites. Period.
